What changed

  • A 2021 iteration was reported at roughly $78 million with 125 apartments on the vacant 2.5-acre former Service Tank site.
  • By 2023, a broader iteration described an eight-story mixed-use project with parking, retail, offices, and substantially more housing; program and unit counts varied across published versions.
  • Apartment counts, height, and program differ across the 2021, 2023, and 2026 iterations and should not be combined as though they describe one fixed design.
  • The Louisville Downtown Partnership lists $255.3 million as whole-project investment, not a final construction contract.
  • In January 2026, the city approved a shell-only permit for NuLu Crossing West, reported at roughly $30 million. Permit approval is a preconstruction milestone, not proof of a verified groundbreaking, and no overall completion date was announced.
