The completed Omni closely follows the 2015 program: 30 stories and 612 hotel rooms versus 600 proposed. The residential count differs by source. Omni and Louisville Tourism list 226, while the general contractor lists 225, so this entry does not treat it as definitively identical to the 225-unit proposal.

What changed

  • The Cordish Companies was originally a planned co-developer and withdrew in January 2015, before the June 2015 renderings were released.
  • The 2015 renderings and announcement described a 30-story glass-and-brick tower with 600 hotel rooms, 225 residential units, restaurants, and an urban market.
  • The building opened March 6, 2018 at 30 stories and 394 feet, with 612 hotel rooms plus residences, retail, and restaurants.
  • Current Omni and Louisville Tourism material lists 226 residences; general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie lists 225 apartments. The sources therefore differ by one unit.

Why there is nothing to explain

The built hotel follows the announced program closely. A 12-room difference sits inside normal design development. No sourced account of a significant design change was found.
