Allegiant Stadium
3333 Al Davis Way, Las Vegas, NV 89118
MANICA's black ETFE-domed stadium, with a 275-foot video screen and retractable Strip-facing doors, was completed in July 2020 close to its rendered form. The Raiders and others have used the attributed nickname "Death Star" for the finished building.
What got built

What changed
- MANICA Architecture, the same firm behind an earlier unbuilt Carson, California stadium proposal that Raiders owner Mark Davis had specifically requested elements from, designed the domed, ETFE-roofed stadium.
- Construction began November 13, 2017, and completion and occupancy certification were recorded July 31, 2020. The Raiders' first regular-season game at the stadium was September 21, 2020, without spectators because of COVID-19.
- Published project totals are commonly rounded to about $1.9 billion against an approximately $1.8 billion budget. Those rounded figures alone support a difference of roughly $100 million, not a precise $175 million overrun without more detailed underlying totals and scope.
- The completed stadium includes retractable, curtain-style doors overlooking the Las Vegas Strip and the 85-foot Al Davis Memorial Torch; the height refers to the torch rather than its surrounding structure.
- The Raiders and other coverage have attributed the nickname "Death Star" to the stadium's dark exterior and rendered appearance.
Why there is nothing to explain
The completed stadium delivered the principal design shown in MANICA's renderings, including its Strip-facing opening and memorial torch. Published cost figures vary in precision and scope, so this entry uses only the rounded approximately $1.8 billion budget and $1.9 billion project total.
